Early life of Mahmudul Hasan Joy
Muhammad Hasan Joy was born on November 13, 2000, in the Chandpur district’s West Larua hamlet of the Faridganj sub-district. He is the third of Abdul Barek and Hasina Begum’s four children. Joy began playing cricket at the Clemon Chandpur cricket academy. He was accepted into Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in 2014.
Domestic career of Mahmudul Hasan Joy:
He was included on Bangladesh’s roster for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2019. He struck a century in Bangladesh’s six-wicket victory over New Zealand in the second Super League semifinal of the competition.
On December 6, 2020, he played his first Twenty20 match for Gazi Group Chattogram in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup for the 2020–21 season. The Bangladesh Emerging team selected him for their home series against the Ireland Wolves in February 2021. On February 26, 2021, he made his first-class debut for the Bangladesh Emerging squad against the Irish Wolves.

He was included in Bangladesh’s Test squad for their matchup with Pakistan in November 2021. On December 4, 2021, he played his first Test match for Bangladesh against Pakistan. He reached his first Test fifty in the series opener at Bay Oval in January 2022 against New Zealand. On the fourth day of the first Test match, he sustained a finger injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the series.
In February 2022, he was a member of Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) team against Afghanistan. In March 2022, he was part of Bangladesh’s ODI team against South Africa. Joy recorded his first century in Test cricket in April 2022 against South Africa. In addition, he became the first Bangladeshi batter to record a century in a Test match against South Africa.
