The Indian Premier League has seen some of the best and most spectacular wicketkeepers. Adam Gilchrist, imprint Boucher, Kumar Sangakkara, and the table leader, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have all left their imprint. They have done it all, from incredible dismissals to catches, and stumpings.
The top ten wicketkeepers in the Indian Premier League with the most stumping are:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at the top of the list. Given his stats, it’s easy to see why people call him the best wicketkeeper-batsman of all time. He has played in 234 games and has been stumped 39 times. Dhoni has only played for Chennai and Pune (except for two seasons when Chennai had to stop playing). He is now a model for wicketkeeper batters who are just starting out.
Dinesh Karthik:
Dinesh Karthik comes in at number two. The talented and successful batsman has been doing well in his career as of late. Karthik has done a great job in his roles as wicketkeeper and lower middle-order batter. He has played in 229 IPL games and has taken 34 bats from the other team. He has also played for teams in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, and other places.
Robin Uthappa:
Robin ‘Robbie’ Uthappa is number three. The skilled wicketkeeper who hit with his right hand was always a joy to watch. He was also quick and happy behind the stumps. Over the course of 205 IPL games, he has 32 stumping to his name. He wore the gloves all the time when he was with Kolkata Knight Riders. But when he played for Chennai, he had to field because Dhoni was there.
Wriddhiman Saha:
Wriddhiman Saha is the fourth person on the list who has been inducted. Saha is one of those rare stars that we sometimes come across. He has played in 144 IPL games and has 22 times taken the stumps of his opponents. Saha was so good with the gloves that he made it to the national Test team. He was never as good as MS Dhoni, though. Saha wore the shirts of teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.
Rishabh Pant:
At number five, we have one of the most exciting players who has ever stepped into the batting box and is still playing. The wicketkeeper batter, who bats with his left hand, is known for his no-nonsense style. He always tries to hit the ball toward the fence when he has the chance. He made his debut in 2016 for the Delhi team (Delhi Daredevils or Delhi Capitals). Pant has 18 times shook the stumps.
Parthiv Patel:

The famous Australian wicketkeeper and batter has been stumped 16 times so far. Gilchrist was the captain of the Deccan Chargers in the first IPL season in 2008. He is known for his fast and skilled hitting. He later played for the Kings XI Punjab team and also took over coaching tasks for that team. His stroke play was beautiful to look at. Also worth remembering is that Gilchrist led the Deccan Chargers to the Indian Premier League championship in 2009.
Quinton de Kock:
At number eight on the list of the top 10 wicketkeepers with the most stumpings in IPL is the dynamic and explosive batsman from South Africa, who has already established himself as one of the best wicketkeeper-batsmen in the current lineup. The left-handed batter who hits hard made his IPL debut all the way back in 2013. He has played for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Supergiants. de Kock has been stumped 15 times.
Sanju Samson:
This talented player from Kerala has had unheard-of success in all of the different parts of the game. Sanju has played for both the Delhi Daredevils and the Rajasthan Royals. He has 12 stumpings so far in the IPL. Even though he hasn’t been a regular member of the national team yet, his consistent play in the local leagues makes his case even stronger. He played for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL for the first time in 2013. He also won the Emerging Player of the Year award that year.
Naman Ojha:
Naman Ojha is number 10 on the list of the top 10 wicketkeepers in the IPL with the most catches. The wicket-keeper batter who hit with his right hand played for the Delhi Daredevils, the Rajasthan Royals, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he showed how good he was with the bat. Naman has 10 stumping to his name. Recently, he was on the Indian Legends team in the Road Safety World Series. Which was held in India. He wore the goalie’s gloves again for that game.
