Najmul Hossain Shanto, a cricket player from Bangladesh, was born on August 25, 1998. After Sabbir Rahman, he is the second Bangladeshi to score a century in domestic Twenty20 matches. He was included in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2015. Early and personal life

Shanto is from Ranhat in Rajshahi, and the Clemon Rajshahi Cricket Academy is where he first started playing cricket. He would ride and walk each day to travel the nearly 20 kilometers to the academy from his house. In 2020, while the country was under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he wed Sabrin Sultana Ratna.

Domestic career of Najmul Hossain Shanto:

In the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League, he made his Twenty20 (T20) debut on November 8 while playing for Comilla Victorians. He and Mizanur Rahman scored 341 runs together in December 2017 while playing for Rajshahi Division in a domestic first-class match against Dhaka Metropolis in the 2017–18 National Cricket League.

In October 2018, he was selected for the Khulna Titans team following the Bangladesh Premier League draft for the 2018-19 season. In preparation for Bangladesh’s 2019–20 season, he was selected for a training camp in August 2019. For the 2019–20 season, he will represent the Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League. Najmul struck a century on December 8, 2020, in a Bangabandhu T20 Cup match between Minister Group Rajshahi and Fortune Barishal.

The Bangladesh Premier League’s 2022–23 player draft selected him to play for Sylhet Strikers in November 2022. International career of Najmul Hossain Shanto:

In November 2016, he was part of a 22-member training squad for Bangladesh’s trip to New Zealand. In preparation for Bangladesh’s second Test against New Zealand, he was added to the Test team in January 2017. On January 20, 2017, he played in his first Test during the second Test against New Zealand. In December, he was selected to play for Bangladesh in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. After being benched since the 2018 Asia Cup, he was reinstated for the 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series.On September 18, 2019, he made his Bangladesh T20I debut against Zimbabwe.

With 163 runs in the first innings, he scored his first century in Test cricket in April 2021 against Sri Lanka in the first game of a two-match series. Shanto hit his second Test century against Zimbabwe in Harare in July 2021.

He was included in Bangladesh’s T20I and ODI squads for their series against England in March 2023. In the second ODI on March 1, 2023, he scored his first half-century in ODI cricket. He maintained his strong play in the first T20I, scoring 51 runs off just 30 balls to assist Bangladesh win by 6 wickets and earn their first T20I victory over England. Shanto made 146 and 124 in the lone Test against Afghanistan in June 2023, becoming the second Bangladeshi to achieve two centuries in a Test.
