Karim Janat, an Afghan cricket player, was born on August 11, 1998. On December 7, 2016, he faced off against the England Lions in his first-class debut. He was a member of the Afghanistan team that competed in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup before making his first-class debut.

Domestic Career of Karim Janat:
With twelve dismissals, he shared first place among wicket-takers in the 2017 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament with Zahir Khan. With 30 dismissals in ten games, he was also the top Wicket-taker for the Kabul Region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament.
In September 2018, he was a member of Kandahar’s roster for the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League. He shared the Player of the Tournament honor in the 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League. Which took place in September of that year. First selection in international franchise competitions was with the Colombo Stars for the 2021 Lanka Premier League and the Sylhet Sunrisers for the 2022 Bangladesh Premier League. In July 2022, he was acquired by the Colombo Stars for the third season of the Lanka Premier League.
International Career of Karim Janat:
On December 14, 2016, he played his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match for Afghanistan against the United Arab Emirates. In the game, he amassed 25 runs and claimed 3 wickets. He received his first Man of the Match award for his all-around effort. On February 24, 2017, at the Harare Sports Club, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe.
Afghan under-23s selected him for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. In the second match against the West Indies on November 16, 2019, he recorded his maiden five-wicket haul in T20I cricket. The Player of the Game award went to him after he finished the game with five wickets for eleven runs. He was included in the Afghanistan Test team in November 2019 for the one-off game against the West Indies.
He was added to the Afghanistan team in September 2021 in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. On June 14, 2023, he played in his first Afghanistan Test match against Bangladesh.
