Under-19 Career of Amir Hamza:

In New Zealand during the ICC Under-19 World Cup, Hotak was a member of the Afghanistan Under-19 team. He only played once, and that game was against the Papua New Guinea Under-19s. Later, in the 2011–13 ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Canada, he made his Afghanistan first-class debut.

International career of Amir Hamza:

Later, when Afghanistan played Pakistan at Sharjah in February 2012, Hotak made his One Day International debut. This was the country’s first One Day International match against a Full Member Test-playing nation. In Afghanistan’s 195-run innings, Hotak was out for a six-ball duck while batting at number ten. In Pakistan’s innings, he bowled four wickets less overs, allowing 22 runs. Pakistan defeated their opponent by 7 wickets.

With 67 dismissals in ten games, he finished as the top Wicket-taker in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. He was included in Kandahar’s roster for the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League competition in September 2018.

Test cricket record of Amir Hamza

He was included in Afghanistan’s squad for their first-ever Test match against India in May 2018, but he was not chosen to participate. He was once again selected for Afghanistan’s Test squad in November 2019, this time for the lone match against the West Indies. On November 27, 2019, he took the field for Afghanistan in his first Test match against the West Indies. He made history by becoming the first Afghan bowler to ever take five wickets in a Test match.
