IPL 2008:

Kolkata Knight Riders was one of two teams to start the inaugural Indian Premier League season at Eden Gardens. Sourav Ganguly was the team captain and icon. Kolkata won their first two IPL matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers. Brendon McCullum’s 158 in KKR’s debut match stunned the cricket world and helped the team win. IPL 2020:

Kolkata Knight Riders has won one tournament championship. This team is a dark horse because its performance has fluctuated. KKR underperformed in IPL 2020. In the second part of the tournament, Eoin Morgan took over from Dinesh Karthik. KKR lost momentum. The franchise struggled with Pat Cummins. The team spent a lot on him, yet he underperformed.
