All ten teams will play their home games at their own stadiums
In contrast to the last three seasons, which were affected by the COVID pandemic, the IPL will go back to its original home-and-away format in 2023. All ten teams will play their home games at their own stadiums. There will be a total of 74 games played in 12 different places. Even though the league phase ends on May 21, the Eliminator, the Qualifier, and the finals will all be over by May 28. During the IPL Auction 2023 in December 2022, all ten teams finished putting together their teams.
Most teams had also named their captains for the season, with the exception of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who chose Aiden Markram as their captain. The star player and captain of Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, was hurt in an accident at the end of December 2022, which put him out of action for an undetermined amount of time. So, DC will also choose a new captain for the next season. David Warner is expected to take over as captain, and Axar Patel will serve as his deputy. Most teams in the cash-rich league have also announced their coaches and other backroom staff for the next season. The Punjab Kings will have a new captain who will also coach the team.
