Top 10 Most Failed Captains in Cricket History

Most Failed Captains: No one is born with the skills and instincts of a leader. Even the best players in every sport have often let their teams down when they were in charge. There have been cricketers who were considered to be among the best at what they did, but they weren’t as good as captains. We at Cricket Addict or will look at the ten best players who failed as captains.

The following ten cricketers failed as captains:

    BRIAN LARA:

Brian Lara might be the best left-handed batter of this generation. His style and ability to score goals over and over again have been an inspiration to players today. Lara has more than 20,000 runs in his international career. His best score in a Test match was 400 runs.

But the great West Indies cricketer hasn’t been able to turn his success into wins for his country. With 125 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) played over 13 years and a 50%-win rate, it was his Test success rate that was looked at. Lara had only won 10 of the 47 games she had played, and she had lost 26 of them. The great West Indies player couldn’t get his team to play like him in the five-day game.

    ALASTAIR COOK:

Sir Alastair Cook had a career full of ups and downs, but his passion and drive helped him reach the top of success. He has the most runs for England in the five-day version of the game, with 12742 runs from 161 games, 33 of which were centuries.

But when it came to leading the three Lions, Cook couldn’t do as well as he did with the bat. Over the course of six years, he led England in 59 Test matches. Of those, 22 were losses, and 13 were tied. During his four-year stint, from 2010 to 2014, Cook also led his country in 69 ODIs, but they only won 30 of them.

    ANDREW FLINTOFF:

Andre Flintoff was one of the best examples of a 21st-century all-rounder. The man from England was just as good with the bat as he was with the ball. His career was at its best during the 2005 Ashes, but a string of injuries cut it short.

But Flintoff did not do well when he was in charge of England. In 11 Test matches, he was in charge of his country and had a terrible record of 7 losses, 2 draws, and 2 wins. Even though Flintoff was aggressive as a player, he couldn’t do it in a controlled way as captain. The all-rounder also didn’t do well in one-day internationals (ODIs), where he only won one of seven games he played.

    SACHIN TENDULKAR:

Sachin Tendulkar, the best modern batsman, earned billions of hearts. He has the most international cricket runs and nearly every batting record.

Captaincy-wise, Tendulkar was inconsistent. He captained India twice: briefly in 1996 and badly in 1999-2000. The Little Master had only four wins from 25 Tests and 23 from 73 ODIs, contrasting with his batsman ship success. BCCI offered Sachin Tendulkar the job after Rahul Dravid quit. MS Dhoni took up after the famous batsman declined.

    CHRIS GAYLE:

West Indies leaders are legendary. Clive Lloyd and Viv Richards have led and played. They no longer create top-class leaders. Chris Gayle led West Indies after Brian Lara, but he lacked attack.

Gayle was a prime example of outstanding cricketers who failed as captain, with 17 victories from 53 games and 30 losses. Unlike his batting, the self-proclaimed Universe Boss took captaincy lightly.

    SHAKIB AL HASAN:

Shakib Al Hasan is Bangladesh’s finest cricketer. In the just finished ICC World Cup 2019. The all-rounder became the first to hit over 600 runs and take over ten wickets.

Shakib has unable to translate his all-round success as Bangladesh captain. He has lost ten Tests and 23 ODIs.

    RAHUL DRAVID:

Rahul Dravid is one of India’s best Test batsmen. He has been a rock for his team and helped them get out of trouble many times. He has more than 24,000 runs in international cricket, including 48 centuries and 146 fifties.

But when Dravid took over as leader, he couldn’t keep up the same level of play. He took over as captain from Ganguly at the end of 2005, after Ganguly was kicked off the team. The Wall was India’s captain for a total of 25 Tests and 79 ODIs. He won eight Tests and 42 ODIs. Even though Dravid did well at home, the Indian team had a hard time when they went somewhere else.

    ANDY FLOWER:

Andy Flower is one of Zimbabwean cricket’s brightest stars, and he has helped his country reach new heights. Flower was so consistent in Test cricket in the early 2000s that he had an average of over 50. This made him the best player that his country has ever had.

But Flower, who was great with both the bat and the gloves he wore to keep wickets, didn’t do as well as captain of Zimbabwe. He only won 13 of the 70 Test and ODI matches he played, which is the exact opposite of his records as a batsman and wicket-keeper.

    ROSS TAYLOR:

For more than ten years, Ross Taylor has been a key part of New Zealand’s batting in all formats. During this time, the team has done well in Tests, especially at home, and has been to two straight World Cup finals. He has almost 15,000 international runs and has led the middle-order for New Zealand for a long time.

But Taylor hasn’t been able to keep the Black Caps stable as captain. In 20 ODIs, the swashbuckling batsman has only won six games. When it comes to Test cricket, Taylor’s record is even worse. In the 14 games he has led the Black Caps, he has only won four and lost eight.

    DANIELL VETTORI:

Daniel Vettori, a young New Zealand Test cricketer, is a top left-handed spinner. Vettori has succeeded without media attention. One of the rare Test cricketers to score 3000 runs and 300 wickets.

However, the brilliant bowler was mellow when representing his country internationally. Vettori had success in Test cricket, although his leadership was questioned. He won six of 32 Test matches and drew 16 compared to roughly 50% in ODIs. This is the list of Failed Captains.

Cricketers And Their Affairs With Film Stars

Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore:

Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore met for the first time at a friend’s party in 1965. It was love at first sight. It was said that Tiger Pataudi gave the young Bengali beauty a refrigerator, but it was a rose that finally made her fall in love with him. Four years after that, cricket and Bollywood got married.

    Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani:

Mohammed Azharuddin was so taken with 1980 Miss India winner Sangeeta Bijlani that he divorced his first wife Naureen and married the Bollywood starlet. When people in Azharuddin’s hometown of Hyderabad heard about their affair, it caused a big fuss.

    Ravi Shastri and Amrita Singh:

Ravi Shastri was very popular with women. Before he married Ritu, the handsome blue-eyed boy of Indian cricket had a serious relationship with the up-and-coming actress Amrita Singh. Amrita also went on with her life and married actor Saif Ali Khan.

    Sourav Ganguly and Nagma:

It was said that former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was in a relationship with South Indian Nagma. In 2001, the two were seen together in a temple in Andhra Pradesh, and the story went viral. In an interview with a magazine, Nagma talked about her relationship with Sourav and admitted: “A smaller interest had to be sacrificed for bigger interests… it’s best to move on.” She said she had to end the relationship for the good of the country.

    Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra:

People thought that Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra were seeing each other. In the Indian Premier League, Geeta was seen at many of Mumbai Indians’ home games, and the two were often seen retweeting each other’s posts on Twitter. They were seen together a lot in public, which made Shah Rukh Khan joke to Bhajji at an awards show, “Twadda ghar kab basra hai?” (When will your house be ready?).

    Yuvraj Singh and Simi Garewal:

Yuvraj Singh dated Bollywood actress Kim Sharma for a long time, but they broke up in 2010 for reasons only they know. Yuvi talked about his breakup on Simi Garewal’s talk show later. He said, “At that time, I was at the top of my career. Yes, I was going to marry her because she has been my biggest love. She is now married. So talking about her isn’t a good idea”.

    Zaheer Khan and Isha Sharvani:

People thought that Zaheer Khan’s relationship with Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani was so serious that they were getting married. Both of them denied the rumors over and over again, but Isha later admitted that she had broken up with India’s pace spearhead. Zak was later seen hanging out with model and cum VJ Ramona Arena. We say he’s quite the player!

    Stuart Binny and Mayanti Langer:

Stuart Binny may have been a late bloomer in cricket. As he was only called up to the national team recently. However, the son of World Cup winner Roger Binny married VJ cum presenter Mayanti Langer after they met during the disgraced Indian Cricket League.

    MS Dhoni and Deepika Padukone:

Everyone remembers MS Dhoni’s short-lived relationship with Deepika Padukone in 2007, when the actress was making her debut in the much-anticipated film “Om Shanti Om” by Shah Rukh Khan. Their relationship was all over the news, and Deepika was seen in Johannesburg cheering for Dhoni and Team India in the T20 WC final. Since then, both of them have moved on. Deepika is now dating actor Ranveer Singh, and Dhoni is married to the beautiful Sakshi.

    Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma:

You’re right, you guessed it! Virat Kohli leading the Indian team at the Asia Cup in Bangladesh. Anushka Sharma is now the First Lady of India, at least in cricket. They met while making a commercial in December and haven’t been apart since. Virat rang in the New Year with the actress and her friends at a party. And the two are said to be living together. On Valentine’s Day, the two lovers were seen walking hand in hand through the streets of Auckland. Nice pair, right?

Top 10 Youngest Debutants in Cricket

Youngest Debutants in Cricket: Any young cricketer’s dream is to play for the national team for the first time. Even more so, making your debut in a Test is a big deal because it is the hardest format.

Click Here for IPLT20 Records: IPL T20 RECORDS     Click Here for Official T20 World Cup Site: News on T20 World Cup

The most exciting players to watch are definitely those who are just starting out, because you never know if they’re good enough or if they’ll do as well as they hope. When their biggest dream of playing Test cricket comes true, some players tend to step up to the challenge, while others just fall short. As a way to talk about these people and what they’ve done.

Here are some records and stats about debutants:

Some of the players on the list, like Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, made a big difference in cricket and don’t need to be introduced. Sachin Tendulkar broke, made, and beat every kind of record that could be set in this format. Shahid Afridi, on the other hand, is one of the few all-rounders in the current generation who can change the course of a match by both hitting and bowling.

    Hasan Raja:

Raza of Pakistan is the youngest person to play in an ODI. He didn’t have a long career, though. He played in 16 ODIs before he was kicked off the team. In those games, he scored 242 runs at just 18.61, and his low strike rate of 50 in limited overs was what got him kicked off the team.

    Mohammad Ashraful:

Ashraful, a well-known cricketer from Bangladesh, is also on the list. With the bat, he made a lot of waves and helped Bangladesh beat a few big teams. He has set a lot of records for Bangladesh with his bat, but when he was found guilty of fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League, his career was over. He was one of the best players in the country.

    Aaqib Javed:

Javed was another young star in Pakistan. In 1999, allegations of fixing hurt his career. In the 1990s, he was one of the best fast bowlers Pakistan had to offer. He is one of the few bowlers to have taken 7 wickets in an ODI, including a Hattrick against India in the Wills Final in 1991.

    Nitish Kumar:

Bangladesh lost a talented young pacer who had just joined the team before the 2003 World Cup because of an injury. He bowled well against teams that were better than his. But because he got hurt a lot, he lost his skills and was soon kicked off the team. The list also has three players from countries that are “associate countries.” Nitish Kumar, a promising young batsman from Canada, was the youngest player to play in the World Cup. He was also the second youngest player to play in his first ODI. Even though he hasn’t done much, he’s still on the team because there isn’t anyone better. He had also played in three U-19 World Cups, including the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2014, which just ended.

    Ramveer Rai:

Ramveer Rai of the UAE and Nadeem Ahmed of Hong Kong were also players. During the 2004 Asia Cup, both played for the first time. Since then, Nadeem Ahmed has played a few times, but Ramveer Rai hasn’t been on the field much, even for List A.

  • Most Runs in Test – Highest Runs in Test Cricket Career

Most Runs in Test – Highest Runs in Test Cricket Career

Most Runs in Test: While scoring runs at home is one thing, doing so away from home in unexpected circumstances presents a very different difficulty. Bowlers will certainly have an advantage due to their familiarity with their home field, favorable pitches, and supportive spectators. Some batsmen, though, have excelled and scored a lot of runs on opposition territory throughout the history of Test cricket, not just a few.

The top 10 run scorers away from home are listed here; you’ll recognize some of the names on the list:

    Sachin Tendulkar:

When it comes to getting the most runs in a test cricket game, it’s easy to guess who is the best run machine. Sachin Tendulkar, who is known as the “God of Cricket,” has the most runs in the test series. From 200 cricket games, he has scored 15,921 runs. In a game against Bangladesh, he scored 248 runs without being out. In those 200 matches, he got 51 100s and 68 50s. No one even comes close to him to be able to beat this record.

    Ricky Ponting:

Ricky Ponting, who used to be the captain of Australia, is next on the list. Ponting played in 168 games and made a total of 13,378 runs. His highest score was 257 against India. In those 168 games, he got 41 100s and 62 50s.

    Jacques Kallis:

South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis is number three on the list. Kallis played in 166 test matches and got 13,289 runs over the course of his career. His highest score was 224, which he got against Sri Lanka. Out of the 166 games he played, he got 45 100s and 58 50s.

The schedule says that all of them must play at least two bilateral series

The International Cricket Council, which is the highest governing body of the game, makes a schedule for the test-playing countries. The schedule says that all of them must play at least two bilateral series (one at home and one away) against each other over a 10-year period. The Future Tour Program, or FTP, is the name of this plan. Two is the least amount. If the boards of the countries agree, they can play more than two bilateral series in 10 years, but they must play at least two. Here, you can find the FTP schedules for all of the countries that play tests. We have a dropdown menu down there. You just have to choose the country you want from the dropdown menu, and a list with that country’s upcoming bilateral series will show up in front of you.

Also, the International Cricket Council’s Cricket FTP says that if a team doesn’t want to go to a certain country for a bilateral series because of safety concerns, that series can be moved to a neutral venue with good facilities. Such as the United Arab Emirates or any other country where both boards agree. Recently, a lot of the Pakistan Cricket Team’s home series have been held in the Emirates.

Cricket, one of the world’s most intriguing sports, is supposed to be controlled by batsmen, yet if one looks closely, it’s a game of great bowling and batting. Bowlers sometimes rule cricket. A bowler’s rapid delivery can send someone from the crease to the pavilion before they realize it. Batsmen skin opponents, but bowlers’ pace thrills everyone. All Format Rankings show the world’s quickest bowler.

The top ten outstanding fast bowlers in cricket history:

    1. Mitchell Starc currently bowls at 160.4 kmph, making him the world’s best bowler:

Batsmen fear Mitchell Starc. It’s hard to believe that the tall, skinny Sydney youngster who was an aspiring wicketkeeper in junior cricket would become the world’s most threatening batsman. A club coach observed a tall, lanky 14-year-old wicketkeeper trying out for the Western Suburbs, according to mythology. He pulled the young man aside and insisted that he remove his wicketkeeping mitts and teach him to bowl. The AFL’s famous strategy of scouting a body type and creating a talent around it seemed to work again, favoring the player’s ability and aptitude.

Mitchell Starc, an Australian left-arm fast bowler, has the second-fastest average speed in the world at 143.2 kph, missing the top place by 0.1 kph. He threw 160.4 km/h against Ross Taylor of New Zealand in 2015. Champions Trophy match in Edgbaston on June 10, 2017. Starc, a quick bowler, took a wicket. Starc and Pat Cummins have led Australia’s bowling attack, retaining Brett Lee, Glenn McGrath, and Jason Gillespie’s reputation.

    2. Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz, 149.6 kph:

Wahab made his first-class debut in 2001-02. In 2008, national selectors selected him for the ODI team.
