Domestic career of Zakir Hasan:
On September 18, 2015, Zakir made his first-class debut in the National Cricket League. He was included in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2015. In the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League, he made his Twenty20 (T20) debut on November 8 while playing for Chittagong Vikings.
Zakir’s first double century in first-class cricket came in January 2018 while playing for East Zone versus Central Zone in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League. Following the Bangladesh Premier League draft for the 2018–19 season. Zakir was selected for the Rajshahi Kings team in October 2018.
International career of Zakir Hasan:
Zakir was included in the Bangladesh Twenty20 International (T20I) team in February 2018 for a series against Sri Lanka. On February 15, 2018, he made his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka. Zakir was one of twelve rookies chosen in August 2018 for a 31-man Bangladeshi preliminary team for the 2018 Asia Cup.
He was selected to play for Bangladesh in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December. He was included in Bangladesh’s roster for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in November. Later that month, he was chosen to represent Rangpur Rangers in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League and included in Bangladesh’s team for the 2019 South Asian Games men’s cricket competition. After defeating Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the championship match, the Bangladeshi team took home the gold medal.
He made his Test debut against India on December 14, 2022, during India’s tour of Bangladesh, and on December 17, while batting in the first Test’s second innings, he hit his first Test century of his career. He became the fourth player from Bangladesh to score a century in a test.
