Shubman Gill is the youngest player to ever get a double hundred
Gill scored 208 runs in the first ODI match against New Zealand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. He only faced 149 balls. With this achievement, the 23-year-old cricketer has joined an elite group of Indian players who have scored a double century. He is only the fifth player for India (after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan) to score two hundred in an ODI.
Gill beat the New Zealanders badly and scored one of the fastest double centuries in an ODI. He is also the Indian who scored 1,000 runs in ODIs the fastest. This is the promising Punjab batter’s third century. He recently got a chance to play for Team India.
Shubman got a hundred in the last game
Gill got a hundred in the last game of the Sri Lanka series and then a double hundred in the first ODI match against New Zealand on Wednesday. Gill has only been playing for his country for 19 innings. But he has already hit three centuries. He did this in a match in Hyderabad.
Gill and Rohit Sharma opened the innings together. Gill held the innings together while captain Rohit Sharma was out cheaply and then Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan were out quickly.
