Mehidy Hasan Miraz Biography

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, a Bangladeshi cricketer who represents his country in Tests and One Day Internationals (ODIs), was born on October 25, 1997. He is a bowling all-rounder who bats right-handedly and bowls right-arm off break.

Mehidy developed into one of the game’s most skilled players throughout time, and later this year, he achieved his highest-ever ODI rankings. He recorded the best match figures for a Bangladeshi bowler in a Test match in November 2018 against the West Indies. He made his debut century in a Test match against the West Indies in February 2021.

Miraz began playing cricket when he was eight years old. He was born in Khulna, where he also spent his formative years. After being first chosen for the Under-14 national cricket championship, he attended Kashipur Cricket Academy.

Miraz was on the verge of entering the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15, 2019, along with several other members of the Bangladesh test team, when a terrorist attack started. The squad as a whole was “deeply affected”. Miraz made the decision to wed Rabeya Akhter Priti, his longtime fiancée, on March 21, 2019. In an effort to get over “the shock” of the New Zealand terrorist attack. Bangladesh’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup team was led by Miraz in December 2015. Miraz played mostly as a lower-middle order bowling all-rounder in the competition. Despite opening for the majority of his time in the Under-19, Under-17, and other domestic championships. On February 16, 2015, Miraz faced the cricket squad from the Rajshahi Division for his first-class debut. He scored 51 runs (just in the first innings) and claimed four wickets in his first game. On November 9, 2016, he played his first Twenty20 (T20) match while representing Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League for 2016–17.

The Rajshahi Kings selected Miraz in October 2018 after the draft for the 2018-2019 Bangladesh Premier League. Khulna Tigers selected him to represent them in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League.

Miraz experienced the Test player debut of a lifetime. The management of the team never had any doubts about their discovery of a special talent after the extraordinary 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, in a move reminiscent of Australia’s introduction of Shane Warne during the 1993 Ashes tour. He was scheduled to make his ODI debut for Afghanistan a month ago but was purposefully left out to keep his identity a secret from England.

Miraz was a member of Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) team for their series against New Zealand in December 2016, but he did not participate. He was included in Bangladesh’s ODI team for their series against Sri Lanka in March 2017. On March 25, 2017, at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, he made his ODI debut in the opening game of the series. Kusal Mendis was brought down by him for 4 runs, giving him his first ODI wicket. He had taken 2 wickets for just 43 runs in his final 10 overs of the game.

As part of the Bangladesh Twenty20 International (T20I) team, Miraz played against Sri Lanka in April 2017. On April 6, 2017, he played in his first T20I for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka. Miraz was one of ten cricketers who received a central contract from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in April 2018 in preparation for the upcoming season.
