Aiden Kyle Markram is a South African player who was born on October 4, 1994. He is currently the captain of the South African national cricket team for Twenty20 International matches. South Africa’s under-19 cricket team won the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup while he was captain. He was named one of the five Cricketers of the Year in the 2018 South African Cricket Annual. Graeme Smith, a former South Africa captain and batter, has said that Markram will be the captain of South Africa one day. Domestic career of Aiden Markram:
On October 9, 2014, Markram played his first match for Northerns against South Western Districts. He was on the Northerns cricket team that went to the Africa T20 Cup in 2015. In the Bolton Cricket League in 2016, Markram was the club coach for Walkden. Markram won the Domestic Newcomer of the Year award at Cricket South Africa’s yearly awards in May 2017. Nelson Mandela Bay Stars selected him for the first season of the T20 Global League in August 2017. But in October 2017, Cricket South Africa put off the event until November 2018. Soon after, it was canceled.
Markram was put on Paarl Rocks’ team for the first Mzansi Super League T20 event in October 2018. Markram joined Hampshire County Cricket Club in March 2019 as an international player for the first part of the season. Later that same month, in the final of the 2018–19 Momentum One Day Cup, Markram scored 127 runs, which helped Titans win the event.

Markram was on South Africa’s Test team for a series against England in June 2017, but he did not play. In August 2017, he was chosen to lead the South Africa A cricket team against India an in two four-day matches. Markram was put on South Africa’s Test team in September 2017 for a series against Bangladesh. On September 28, 2017, he played his first Test match for South Africa against Bangladesh.
Markram got his first Test century in the second Test against Bangladesh on October 6, 2017. He scored 143 runs off 186 balls before being caught by Rubel Hossain. In his first Test, Markram came close to getting a century, but didn’t quite make it. Markram was added to South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) team in October 2017. He replaced Hashim Amla for the third match against Bangladesh. Aiden played his first ODI for South Africa on October 22, 2017, against Bangladesh. He scored 66 runs and took two wickets.
He batted only 10 times in this series, his first time playing outside of Africa for South Africa. This showed a weakness against spin bowling. Aiden Markram was put on South Africa’s Test team for their series against Pakistan in January 2021. Markram got a steady 74 in the first test, which he lost. Markram got the most runs in the series, with an average of 56.75. Despite losing the series, South Africa had not lost a Test series to Pakistan since 2003.
