Mumbai Indians Women Complete Squad: On Monday, February 13, the first auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 took place at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. Before the tournament, the Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and UP Warriorz (UPW) carefully chose their best lineups.

Auction:

There were a total of 448 cricketers at the auction, 269 of whom were Indian and 179 of whom were from outside India (including 19 players from Associate Nations). The Mumbai Indians have won the Men’s Indian Premier League five times, and they showed how smart they are by making some smart signings at the Women’s Premier League auction. They signed Harmanpreet Kaur, and soon after that, they said she would be the team captain. The Mumbai franchise of the Women’s Premier League is owned by Indiawin Sports Private Limited, which is a part of Reliance Industries. With a price tag of Rs 912.99 crore (about $111 million), it was the second most expensive team to be bought in the bidding.

The winning bid came from Indiawin Sports, which also owns the Mumbai Indians, who have won the Indian Premier League five times. The franchise will have a coaching staff made up of only women. The head coach of the franchise will be Charlotte Edwards, who was the captain of England. Former India captain Jhulan Goswami has been named the franchise’s mentor and bowling coach. Former India all-rounder Devika Palshikar has been named the franchise’s batting coach.
