Since the League’s first season in 2008, the team has been one of the original 8 teams that play in it. Long-time RCB captain Virat Kohli holds the record for the most runs scored in an IPL season (973 runs in 2016). But in some seasons, the team has played very poorly and even holds the record for scoring the fewest points in the history of the League with 49.
